When I was 12, my family left Polson, Montana to explore the far flung corners of the Last Best Place - on a road trip to discover Ghost Towns. In Garnet, when my Dad was distracted, my brother and I wriggled through a hole in the floorboards of Calamity Jane’s Hotel - into a ballroom with old chandeliers and a massive mahogany stairway. it was then, surrounded by her welcoming walls with the scent of pine and fur coats, that I began to wonder who she was, and my imagination was sparked into the world of miners , myths and ghost towns.
Soon afterwards I started drawing on poker chips and cutting boxes up for a board game. - weaving together myth, mining, Montana history, laughter, brotherly competition, and love of evening games. It has been played and honed through the years and is now apparently in your hands. I hope that it brings you together with family and friends in a lively competition around the dining room table. - It is made by hand and infused with many Montana memories.
